We would like to officially announce that the classes for our RNA and acute CNA is now accepting registration!

 

These courses will prepare Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to work in the acute care setting as well as a restorative setting through an expansion of their existing basic skills.

“Aside from work, these classes can career ladder to help transition into the vocational Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing programs.”

 RNA Class:

Comprises of two days (16 hours) of theory and clinical

Student will be certified as a Restorative Nursing Assistant

Requirements:

Must be currently certified as a nurse assistant

Recent TB and medical exam.


Class hours varies. please call for more details

Assists patients with exercise to improve or maintain mobility and independence

Provides residents with routine restorative nursing care and services

 Documents care on Rehabilitation/Restorative flow sheet

 Participate in and document results of residents’ activities of daily living programs such as dressing, feeding and personal hygiene; maintain restorative therapy notes in residents’ record.

Requirements for both classes:

Must be currently certified as a nurse assistant

Up to date TB test and Health records

Present a current Health Care Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR card

Acute CNA Class

·         Prepares the Certified Nurse Assistant to function at a competent level in the acute care setting.

·         Provides guidelines for acute clinical experiences.

·         Skills are taught that are necessary in the acute care setting.

·         The acute care course  teaches students to provide quality healthcare to medical patients.

·         Topics in this course include the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease, and the Acute Care Nursing Assistant's role in patient care.

·         Students learn to effectively care for the emotional and physical needs of patients and to apply critical thinking techniques to problems typically faced by Acute Care Nursing Assistants and nurses.
